Muhammad Ali(55-2-0) Vs Leon Spinks(6-0-1)……Now Does That Make Sense, Now My Question is How Can You Get a Title Shot With Only 7 Pro Fights….
I think Ali wanted to beat a young fighter who had a name from his Olympic Gold Medal but that he thought would not be prepared for this due to his experience…well inexperience. Ali wasn’t what he use to eb anymore either. Today champions only fight mandatories and other big name fighter to make big money fights. Also, a young Olympic Gold Medalist prospect would not fight a champ this early because his handlers would be too busy protecting his record. He might not even be fighting beyond 8 rounds after 7 bouts. I guess this is what Teddy Atlas keeps complaining about with the guys they have Andrade and Wilder fighting.
